Tree Disposal

Tree Disposal Everett Wa

Tree disposal is a process of disposing of the tree after you have cut it down. There will be consequences of cutting down your tree which should be considered before you do so. If there was significant damage to the trunk or roots of the tree, it may not be safe to remove it and a professional should be called upon to complete the task.

One way of disposing of your tree is to leave it onsite as long as possible so that wildlife can use it for shelter, food, or nesting areas. This is a good option if you need to maintain this area for some other reason such as conservation.

Tree disposal is often needed after a storm has caused damage to the area. If you are unable to leave your tree onsite, consider mulching it for use in your garden or yard. Trees can be used to make new fences or simply give privacy around flower beds and vegetable gardens. Make sure that any branches that may have broken off during the storm are left onsite and not bagged to be removed.

If you choose to take away your tree, make sure that it is disposed of in a responsible manner. Trees should be chipped up and used for other uses such as making trails through wooded areas or for erosion control along roadsides and steep slopes (See: Storm Water Management and Erosion Control).

If you live near a landfill, ask if they will accept yard waste and wood chips. If not, contact your city or county office to see where the closest place that will take it is located. Never leave your tree on the street as it can be a hazard to public safety and cause damage to vehicles.

When removing your tree, it is important that you are careful to avoid damaging nearby trees or structures. Make sure that the area has been cleared of any nearby objects before removing the tree. If you want to leave a stump in your yard after removing your tree, make sure it is at least 3 feet wide so erosion won't be an issue and there will be plenty of room for new grass to grow.

If you need help with the tree waste (Christmas trees) or have any other yard waste removal, contact your local city officials. They will be able to assist you in finding the location nearest to you that can properly dispose of your trees and provide additional information on which type of disposal option is right for your particular situation.
